Cora Ball + Filters ~ Keeping Microfibers Out Of Waterways

Microfibers from our clothes can make their way from the washing machine, into waste water systems, and eventually rivers and oceans. The Hudson River dumps 300 million clothing fibers into the Atlantic Ocean each day, according to a recent study in the Marine Pollution Bulletin. Approximately half of the fibers are plastic, while the remainder come from natural materials like cotton or wool. Invisible to the naked eye, these fibers can cause health problems for animals and humans.

Luckily, science says that laundry balls and filters are effective in keeping microfibers out of waterways. The Germantown Laundromat carries the Cora Ball and we love the work this VT based company is doing for our rivers + oceans!
