I have loved running this little laundromat for the past six years, but it is time for it and me to move into a new chapter. The Germantown Laundromat is officially for sale!

This summer I'll be looking for its new owner. My hope is to find someone who values and respects the importance of community, circularity and everyday services as much as I do. I'd love for them to keep the laundry and mending services so many of our neighbors rely on, while also imagining new ways to use the space.

I believe spaces where all types of people, from all different economic and social backgrounds can interact are so important these days. A laundromat is both an essential part of the community as well as a perfect place to integrate other offerings like a retail space, bar, gallery, who knows! Laundromats that double as something else are becoming more and more common (New York Times Article). Main Street and the wonderful businesses in Germantown offer a supportive, sustainable-growth mindset — anyone would be lucky to plant roots here.

The Germantown Laundromat was recently approved (after 15 months) for a temporary beer, wine and cider license. So that can be part of the conversation for anyone interested. Overall, this business can be pretty turn-key :
